On May 5th, 2008, Teich AG, a company of Constantia Flexibles, and the Swiss corporation Alupak AG signed a Joint Venture-contract, which subject to verification of the antitrust authorities and the supervisory board of the companies foresees that Teich AG will acquire 70% of the shares of Alupak in Werdohl, Germany. 30% of the shares of Alupak Werdohl will remain at Alupak AG.
Alupak AG is a leading producer of aluminium containers and capsules with two production sites at Belp, Switzerland, and Werdohl, Germany. Alupak Werdohl achieved in 2007 with 85 employees a turnover of €28 mill. and produces mainly aluminium containers for human food. The majority takeover of the Werdohl site is a strategic completion of the already existing business of aluminium trays for pet food of Teich AG.
