Again an innovation of Constantia Flexibles was awarded the WorldStar 2009 – the Comfor Lid.
The Comfor Lid is a double-ply lid which consists of aluminium and a plastic film. This provides an optimal puncture resistance and it has a likeable drink opening. The Comfor Lid adds value, attracts attention and opens distinguished marketing chances for our customers.
The Comfor Lid is ideal for liquid products (e.g. Drink yogurt, Milk-Shakes,...), is convenient for on-to-go consumption (car, train, plane), has a likable drink opening (“haptics”), an increased puncture resistance which in turn means optimum product protection, it is microwaveable after peeling off the aluminium layer and it runs on conventional pot filling lines so there are no investments necessary.
Additionally the product can also be used for piecewise products (chocolate candy, chewing gums, snacks,...) and it can be found in the sectors of dairy, food and beverages.
Comfor Lid is already used by five customers in the Austrian, Eastern European, Spanish and Norwegian markets and it won the WorldStar, Scanstar and the Alufoil Trophy 2009 of the EAFA (European Aluminium Foil Association).
This product has the potential to revolutionize the lidding market and it enables our customers as well as all cup fillers new opportunities regarding cup use and product content.
